Guided by Head Coach Alex Petropolis and General Manager Brandon Rafuse, the Thunder have established themselves as a premier franchise in the league, boasting a history of undefeated regular seasons and back-to-back championship runs. Our roster is a veteran-laden powerhouse featuring top-tier U SPORTS and CCAA standouts, former professionals, and elite local talent known for their relentless transition offense and stifling defense.

Off the court, the Thunder are dedicated to growing the game and building strong community ties. Whether battling for the Legacy Cup or mentoring the next generation of athletes, our mission is to showcase the highest level of female basketball talent in Nova Scotia and inspire young players across the Maritimes.

Co-founded by Janice King and Mark Forward, the Hornets have built a championship pedigree in the highly competitive Nova Scotia Division. Our roster is a dynamic mix of U SPORTS and CCAA standouts, deep-rooted veterans, and elite local talent from the Halifax region.

The Hornets are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of women’s sports in the Maritimes. Whether we are battling our cross-town rivals on the court or engaging with the local community, our mission is to deliver high-level basketball and serve as mentors for young female athletes across Nova Scotia.

Welcome to the official team page of the Fredericton Freeze! As a charter member of the Maritime Women’s Basketball Association (MWBA), the Freeze are proud to bring elite, highly competitive women’s basketball to New Brunswick’s capital city.

Guided by Head Coach and General Manager Bram Russell, the Freeze have consistently been a powerhouse in the New Brunswick Division, securing the top regional seed in three of the league’s first four seasons and hosting the championship weekend in 2025. Our roster consistently features top-tier U SPORTS/CCAA talent, former professionals, and elite local players.

Off the court, the Freeze are dedicated to growing the game, fostering a strong relationship with families and young athletes in the Fredericton community to inspire the next generation of female basketball stars.
